Helpful resources for children facing a difficult issue

Hi, my 9 year old daughter has multiple issues caused by an unidentified virus that resulted in damage to her brain. This happened out of the blue when she was 6. We have had little to no support to try to help her physically and mentally whilst she rehabilitates. She is doing well on the physical side and continues to gradually improve thankfully but I want to help her more with the emotional side of things. How do we help our children come to terms with such enormous challenges in life? Sometimes I worry about her levels of anxiety and whether she might get depressed, although day to day she is amazingly resilient. I have thought about books (these exist for kids on issues like divorce, bullying and so on, but I am not so sure about chronic medical conditions). There is also the option of Children's counselling but I don't think she needs that at this stage. Does anyone know of any other resources out there that will make her feel special and give her some ideas and strategies on feeling positive despite her condition? What else is out there to help children facing a difficult issue like this that even adults would struggle to come to terms with?
