Hey ladies please help as I am close to losing the will. My wee girl is 6 mobth old ans has had tummy/wind issues since she was born. She wont settle all day due to wind (both ways) but does not bring it up herself or with me winding in every position possible and just cries until the tiniest wee burp is out ans by then she is normally due another bottle and it starts all over. She also cries is she needs to pump, cries when pumping and it is a struggle for hwr to gwt them out. She is not sleeping durinf the day and up a lot at night writhing about and I think its wind as she still has her eyes closed wanting to sleep but I struggle to get it out. I am exhausted and my husband works nightshift so I am on my own most of the day and night. She has reflux but is on meds and it seems to work as she is never sick anymore, I have also tried gripe water, infacol and co-lactase but doesnt seem to work. I have had her at the Dr's but they say she is thriving and keep saying colic but I would have thought she would have outgrown it by now? Sorry long post but I am so upset watching my baby crying all day as something is defo causing her pain and discomfort.

My niece had really bad colic and my SIL used to have to constantly bounce her in the the evenings. A health visitor told her that when the baby writhes to hold her firmly close against her chest and move from side to side - made a huge difference for her so worth a try. Good luck!

Have you considered milk allergy?

Herewegoagain56 · 13/04/2018 19:07

Agree to look at milk allergy, would also explain the reflux

silverpenguin · 13/04/2018 19:09

Are you sure it's wind and she's not grizzly from being overtired? Sounds like she's not getting much sleep?

mintbiscuit · 13/04/2018 19:11

Second silverpenguin. Overtiredness is more likely than wind ime.

Was also going to suggest milk allergy, I had this with my ds and switched to soya formula, that really helped.

my son is like this, I find that he is much worse at night than in the day. After going to the drs and midwives for advice I have found that giving him optibac, camomile D30 suppliment, massaging his tummy and using energy plasters over his intestines has helped a little.
Fennel is supposed to be good but he doesnt like the taste and as is breast fed I cant mix it with formular

He has got slightly better as he has got older (9 months now) but does still struggle at night and can wake him every few hours

The Dr saisd she possibly dors has a slight milk intolerance but this should improve when weaning started but it hasn't. They werent keen on prescribing any special milk for her as she is putting on weight ok.

That's ridiculous @munrokil . This will be entirelt motivated by cost. Prescription milk is £££ which is why people sometimes resist prescribing it.

If you are able to afford it I'd recommend going out to buy some hydrolysed milk (we used aptamil pepti - boots can order) and it sorted a very similar issue extremely quickly.
