The school called me in yesterday, told me that DD2 has severe anxiety and they are concerned.
I was basically told to go to the GP but that he and the school probably won't help and I'd need to pay for counselling. And that is all the school said.
I' ve booked her in for the GP but how do I start helping her? I just feel like such a shit parent because of the way they spoke to me.
Sorry just needed to vent somewhere.

Had you noticed anything yourself with her? How is she at home? Has she got friends?

Sorry to fire questions at you when you're so worried OP. Flowers

No that's ok. Her friend left this year so she's really not part of a group, and hasn't got the confidence to talk to people.
She's fine at home, different child!
Teacher just tells us that we need to do more but not exactly what.

I have two DD's. They're 12 and 9 now. My eldest had some issues when she was younger...anxiety related...she changed schools aged 7 and had a proper tricky year 3 experience.

Took a whole year to sort her out.

I went on a "Playdate offensive" and basically courted as many of the other Mums as I coud...the nice ones.

I also enrolled her in Brownies...anything to boost her confidence really.

Does DD do any extra curricular stuff? What's she good at? What does she enjoy doing most of all?
