5 year old showing concerning behaviour

This is a long shot but I was wondering if anybody else has been through something similar and how they approached it?
My youngest boy of 5 (he has two older brothers and a younger sister) has been saying some odd things recently. The most shocking was when he came downstairs after playing with his brothers and said "mummy, daddy, get a knife and kill me". He said afterwards it was because he brothers were bullying him but regardless of the reason surely that can't be right? It turned out that there weren't actually doing anything to him but he has become withdrawn lately and we can't pinpoint why. He isn't allowed to watch anything remotely violent on TV or anything so we can't figure out where he got the idea from.
And then yesterday he came home from school and told us that his teacher had said that a boy at school had died, a boy who happens to have the same name as his Dad and who also happens to not be real but he is adamant that this little boy from school died recently.

I'm really at a loss with this one, can it really just be an over active imagination or should I be concerned? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I've considered doctors but they tend to refer you to a "cluster" service who helps you "deal with untoward behaviour" as opposed to helping you finding the source of the issue.

That is concerning. Apart from that is there anything else ? Could he have watched something on tv or YouTube? It does sound like he needs to work through something. Perhaps he has just realised what death is. I would ask to see a psychologist. If you don't want to go via a GP of CAMHS most schools have at least a visiting therapist or access to one
