Hi all, my daughter has just been diagnosed with conduct disorder. I'm relieved she has finally been diagnosed but still want help and support with her and haven't been offered any, camhs have diagnosed her and signed her off?? I don't know where to turn? And to make it worse she has just been excluded from school for attacking a teacher.

If she is with CAMHS, I would research NICE guidelines, as to what treatment should be offered www.gosh.nhs.uk/medical-information/search-for-medical-conditions/conduct-disorders/conduct-disorders-information/. If she is under 16 the LEA and Camhs should be obliged to help . Ask them why they wont offer CBT or anger management for example, if the situation is bad enough to get her excluded. Make sure you have everything in writing from them and school and start to appeal to your local Trust for help, especially if you need help with her behaviour. I don't know very much about this as a diagnosis. My own DD had other issues, but we did get a lot of different diagnoses, but for teens, symptoms can change, so help rather than diagnosis is important at this stage . Camhs is so underfunded, its quite a fight, although nothing like adult services I am now finding out.
