Referred to CAMHS

Been a lurker but not a regular so not going to think of all the elaborate key phrases as naice ham, last thing on my mind. After two years (and 2nd time in the last week) I finally asked the school for help after DD1 beat and bit the crap out of me down the road. Referred to community project with advice to help me with defending myself safely and referred to CAMHS as when brought into school showed no visible signs of remorse/emotion which school flagged up without my prompting in their report (although did get apology hours later in a matter of fact conversation). Violence started after bullying years ago, has difficulty with dealing with processing emotions and interpreting the intentions of others in her peer group. Hell, not even sure what I'm asking but sat here in bruises like a battered wife but cant walk away from this one (have been in violent relationship and left so not thought I'm trivialising that).

Well I think you are doing the right thing. Hopefully you have a good CAMHS clinic. I would between now and your appointment, keep a note book, to record what happens and note down anything that you remember and might be relevant/significant.

At the interview, do ask to speak to the advisor without her briefly if you want, also (depending on age) do allow her to do the same.

I'm not going to diagnose over the internet, but CAMHS are probably the best people to look at this. It sounds as though there is an underlying issue, so don't let anyone fob you off.

Good luck! You have been brave.

Hi bigdonna and mummy, sorry not responded sooner but had a very stressful time after a friend helpfully suggested DD1 might be schizophrenic Hmm, totally random diagnosis! Thank you for your responses and will wait to see what happens when school starts and if it may be linked to any bullcrap she's been subjected to by family like I have been
