My darn chickens have found a way into the house, along the hallway and to the cats food bowl!!! They LOVE catfood!!!!

They also invite themselves into the lounge via the patio doors and sit on the rug and poo!!!!

They come into the kitchen and hard stare me until I find them some tasty nibbly thing.

They go around in a gang and intimidate the cats!!!!

I flippin' love my chickens!!!!

They are totally awesome, but crap for England, so you mustn't mind cleaning up after them.

They are endlessly entertaining!

Oh I don't think I'll have to bother with the cleaning up. The dogs will do that, they are really good at clearing up guinea pig poo and cat sick.

atomicsnowflake · 16/06/2010 12:39

lol

Do you have room for chickens? They don't take up very much room. We only have a small back garden, but we have three hens.

If they manage to get into the front garden, the postman won't deliver the post! I don't know why, I don't know what he thinks they'll do to him

I chase them out when they get in the house. I do my face and shout GO IN YOUR OWN HOUSE! THIS IS MY HOUSE! GET OUT YOU DAFT BIRDS!

They can poo on their own floor not mine!

meltedmarsbars · 16/06/2010 12:43

{grin] at chicken postie!! He's the chicken!! Hahaha

fruitshootsandheaves · 16/06/2010 12:45

I have a huge back garden. It's almost 200ft long. I intend to give the chickens the children's old playhouse as it is only used for storage atm and has a small upstairs bit.
I just have to wait for the bunny to go...not that I'm wishing him away but I really want chickens and have it all planned

atomicsnowflake · 16/06/2010 12:49

We got a whole load of post delivered one day - with an elastic band round. Stuff that had been taken back to the depot. Each envelope had the words 'hens out' written on it as a reason for not delivering!

I have a "Beware of the dog hens" sign. Our Posties are fine with the hens, but this is a rural area so a lot of them about. You must have a real chicken postie!

atomicsnowflake · 16/06/2010 13:02

lol a chicken indeed! Maybe he thought they'd peck him or mug him for the post or something

fruitshoots, i have 3 chickens and 2 bunnys, they are housed seperatly with seperate runs but free range together with no probs at all.

fruitshootsandheaves · 16/06/2010 20:07

its not that I'm worried about them being together. It's just that we've got quite a few pets already so need to wait for one to 'depart' before we can afford a replacement IYSWIM!

BabyDubsEverywhere · 16/06/2010 20:11

ahh i see, my poor dh says this all the time, we have 12 of varying species in our tiny 3 bed semi. Thing is as much as i can understand his reasoning i cant stick to it!

atomicsnowflake · 16/06/2010 22:41

Ah, ha....my original plan was to wait until our ageing guinea pigs died before getting the chickens, but I didn't feel as though I could wait that long, so we got the chickens anyway

They remind me of little, harassed people running around, always busy and always on the lookout for MORE FOOD!!!! A bit like the kids really!!!!!
