My wonderful lavender pekins have hatched there own chicks...Its been so excitiing.

Now, does anyone need some hens?

Has anyone ever sold chicks/hens?

I was thinking of putting a notice up to sell them in the local pet suppliers?

Hi i'm in warwickshire but travel alot with work so maybe able to drop them off.

They are very well breed so you can show them but they make great pets. There very good with children and love fuss. They produce an egg a day aswell!!

I'm in south derbyshire. How old are your chicks?

nuttyone · 10/06/2010 16:01

They should be able to come off her after 4 weeks - if you sell before then make sure the buyer has a heat lamp etc.

Can you sex them yet? That's usually about 4 or 5 weeks as well. Remember you might struggle to offload the cocks.

Good luck finding homes!

Ooh, now I'm in South Warwickshire and have a lovely henhouse/run all set up and have been waiting for the weather to settle down (hah!) before going to buy some chickens...

If you would be interested in letting 3 hens go to a new home I'd be totally interested!

RacingSnake · 11/06/2010 22:51

Except it might not be 3 hens - it night be 3 cockerels!

sep1712 · 12/06/2010 22:29

Hi i can always find you a spare 3 hens...Did you want chicks? or did you want to wait till there sexed or older 1's??

I'm a beginner (although my family have had hens for years), so I think that for now older ones would be best.

sep1712 · 13/06/2010 22:22

I think it would be easier for you, but we started with three chicks brought on the spur of the moment and havn't looked back!
