Firstly, How long did it taken you r chickens to work out how to drink from the glug water things.
You know the nipple things underneath? we got ours yesterday and they haven't had a single drink yet.

Secondly, How long before they worked out how to use teh ladder to get in/out of teh cube? I lifted them in last night and this morning they're all still inside even though the door has been open for 40+ minutes.

Thirdly, isn't beinga chicken keeper great fun??

Great! I have found easibed, hemcore and aubiose, plus lots of different chicken pellets/feed/grain/mash so I know where their food and bedding is coming from - 2 minutes from school, very convenient ( school is out of town )

I can't decide between 2 or 3 chickens, they will free range for some of the day, but am concerned that they might be a bit squashed at night.

Thank you for all the handy tips, most gratefully received!

I'm getting a pink eglu

mel2005 · 03/06/2008 21:57

when i had two eglus in one big run all seven girls slept in one eglu and they were not really that squshed.
i would get three because if one dies (which can happen) you will still have a pair.
