Lost two hens- fox-proofing advice please!

Two of our lovely girls were taken by a fox yesterday 😢
It happens I know, but I’m so sad about it. I really love our little flock. And it’s prompting me to look at upping security for the remainder.

We have a secure coop but let them roam over a large fenced area all day. The fencing isn’t fox-proof (clearly) and was only meant to keep the hens away from veggie beds and the road.

Is an Omlet style run with a roof and skirt the only man for the job to keep foxes out? We have a mink lurking somewhere in the vicinity too.
I also read about electric fencing- does anyone have experience?

Would appreciate any advice🙏🏻. Particularly as DD is currently rehabilitating a rescue hen to whom she is very attached (I know🥺) and if we lost her she would be devastated.

We use electric fencing. The coop is inside the fencing and has a timer on the door.
It's a large area, positioned away from any walls where a fox could jump over and in

I didn't want to use electric fencing, but after loosing a number of chickens (including 3 I'd had as hatchlings) I couldn't face losing any more.

The electric fence has worked a treat. Been using it for a few years now and it has kept them safe.

We had a long run in steel square grid with a 10 inch skirt.

My SIL keeps his hens in a paddock using electric fencing. So far it has worked well although he has to keep strimming the grass. Also to site it so foxes can,t jump off say a nearby wall into the area.

I had a smaller garden with purpose-built run when I had hens. It rested on slabs so no foxes or badgers could dig under. The mesh of the run was a thick guage so couldn't be chewed through.

We have had success with electric fencing - you do need to take the fence down every few weeks to mow or strim the line of the fence or it tends to short out via the vegetation and lose its effectiveness)

We did once have a bastard fox that could actually leap over an electric fence (we saw it do it once!!) but that was only the one fox in 20 years of chicken keeping in a rural area where foxes are common and numerous

foxes dig so you need to put the fence into the ground and have it fully enclosed like a cage. Hang bits of your own hair about the coop too. The scent wards them off.
