Can you/how do you stop a chicken when she's gone broody?

My two buff orpington/cochin crosses have both been broody once before each, and now they both are! They stay in the coop, one in the nest box one on the floor, and they are beginning to break the eggs the other two try to lay in there. Last time they went broody we just left them and it lasted exactly 21 days - but this time I really want to stop them sooner if possible. Apart from them getting in the way of the others laying, I want eggs from them! Had just got used to having 4 a day.
Any tips?

yes, don't leave any eggs in there, and if necessary shut then out of the nest box

you have to cool them down- we had a very persistent broody and moved her to a seperate run, gave her shelter but no coop, this seemed kinde than some other things i'd read which involved making them sit on open floors. Then you have to becareful re introducing them. Good luck!

Well, we only have a small suburban garden so a new/additional coop/run isn't really an option. We tried today just shutting all the chickens out of the run and coop, then letting the non-broody ones in and shutting the others out (so the non-broody ones could lay their eggs). We'll try that for the next few days and see if it works!
