We are looking into having chickens. Have a field we can use in the new home. I.want to start with 5 then see how we get on to go with more as we work in hospitality and the eggs will be an added bonus!

Anyways. What does everyone think about this? As I can get a few coops Inside too... or is it not strong enough?

I have something very like that. Decant use the shade thing because it's too windy here and the whole thing would take off!
Other than that, it's been really useful. We have guy ropes holding it down, and just move it and the coop around the field. We made a hole in the mesh so the coop is outside the run and we don't have to go inside the run to clean out the coop or collect eggs.
You might need to paint it to prevent rust, but otherwise it seems like a good idea.
Our run is about 7 metres by 4 metres, and I would definitely get the biggest one you can.

At the moment, only 6, but I also have ducks, turkeys and geese.

I have one too. It's great. Only have one coop but have 10 chickens. Word of warning, make sure you knock snow off on the winter or the weight will break the roof pole. Also badgers and foxes can dig under them to you will need a skirt of chicken wire.
Also you will need to be able to cover it totally in tarp and make sure no other birds can get in to protect your flock from bird flu in winter.

Amazing! Thank you. We have a flock dog so I would be very surprised if we get any foxes! But will take the advice!!

Make sure the door is a snug fit. Some I have seen have gaps under and around the door that are big enough for rats to easily get in and that could give a fox a spot to try getting in/ digging under.

We have similar but with wooden door frame and it's lasted well. The mesh netting (basically rolls of chicken wire you join together with cabel ties) was a pain in the backside to assemble and now some of the cable ties are starting to get brittle and break (5+ years of exposure to the elements) but it'sbeen well worth the money. We have 4x3m with one coop inside and up to 6 (rescue) hens at a time.... we let them out to free range quite a bit too.

We had awful problems with red mite with our cute wooden coop and changed to plastic which is so much easier to clean. Newspaper under the roosts and it's a 2 min job to clean when you go to collect eggs each day.
