Woohoo. She has been broody since yesterday. She is sitting on three of her own eggs but I doubt hey are ant good as she is rarely with the rooster. Anyhoo - I have half a dozen Buff Orp eggs, hopefully ready on Weds for her to hatch.

Hope she holds on to then. She went broody last year when the weather got bad. She was out this morning for awhile but went back in after awhile. Atleast by Weds I'll know if she is serious or not.

Poor Lulu - the eggs were very smelly so DH took them away. All three definitely fertile as each had a fully formed chick inside. I don't know why they died. I wonder if the really cold weather at beginning of the week killed them.

We have put a couple of clean eggs under her, cleaned out the nest box and if my incubator crowd hatch on Weds/Thurs I'll give her a couple of chicks.

That's such a shame when she's a good sitter. Were the membranes on the inside of the egg too dried out for the chicks to get out maybe?

Hope she does get a couple of chicks.

I've resorted to the aga as no broody action here at all...
