Cockerel crowing at night.

I have a new cockerel. He is crowing now, and seems to be doing this a few times during the night. I am wondering if my neighbour’s security light could be causing this, the light isn’t on now but only comes on fairly briefly with the movement sensor, so it might have been on before I looked out.
Otherwise what could be the reason ? I have had cockerels before and they have never done this, they have been quiet all night until dawn. He is the henhouse at night, or not out in the run.
I am worrying that neighbours might get disturbed.

Sorry typos, it should read - He is in the henhouse at night, not out in the run.

My Cockerel doesn't make any noise at night, we have covers over their house to keep the light out as much as possible. Do you have it fully covered?

Not covered no, it should be pretty dark in there , it has air vent holes either end - I read that airflow is important? Two smallish holes either end of the house .There is also a slim gap under the eaves of the roof. So some light could get in there .
He has only been here a week, but three times now I have heard him around about 1.30 to 2am .

Is he young? IME when they first find their voice they crow more often and as they mature it gets less. Also with it being spring they have a lot more hormones. We have 5 cockerels 😬 and it does get a lot earlier in the summer (probably no earlier than 3am?but I'm sure you already know that from pervious cockerels) Go and have a word with your neighbours, mention he's new and you know he's crowing early and you hope it will improve as he gets older. But if they are being woken up by him can they let you know?

In the meantime, can you make sure you've blocked the light as much as possible without stopping ventilation? Maybe a loss tarp over the coop?
I've never done this, but have heard of people putting the cockerel in a low box overnight as they need to stretch their necks out. This doesn't sound ideal though :-(

We keep hens in a housing estate and would never have a cockerel for this reason. Our neighbours briefly had one and everyone complained so they had to re-home it. Hope you find a solution quickly.

LBF he is quite young, yes. My previous boy was ancient , and had definitely got quieter as he got older.
I would say he crows a normal amount for Spring through the day, it is just this wee small hours thing, quite strange. He woke my dog up the other night but other than that hasn’t disturbed us, we have just had a few late nights and so we have been still awake when he’s been crowing.
