How long to keep new chickens separate before mixing them?

We got more ex batts last weekend and they're fairly healthy with the exception of a few small bald patches. One is quite feisty and all are laying so I don't think they need as long as expected (as we were expected some poor states).
Dh & I can't agree on what 'ready to join the rest' actually looks like for them.
Any tips?

How many chickens do you already have and how many are you planning to introduce?
Always good to introduce the new hens at dusk, this way they will wake up together so to speak. Doesn't really matter when you introduce new hens as the "pecking order" will always have to take place, usually all sorted out in a couple of days. You also say the new chickens have bald patches, as long as they have no open wounds this should be ok.

Good idea to watch them just to see how they get on. With my own hens if at anytime there is any bullying to be seen I pull out the bully and put her in a pen on her own to cool down for a day or two...this allows the hens to settle and when she is reintroduced she is calmer.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. 5 old ones and 3 new. One of the old ones and one of the new ones are going to go for each other I think. They've been trying already through the divide. New top one is v feisty, other two fairly easy.
We had a bullying problem before with old top hen but it's all calmed since we separated the weakest one and got her to full strength ( was weakest on arrival and hadn't improved as fast as others and then was bullied so couldn't catch up).

New top hen has a sore patch so we are giving that chance to heal now , it's not that bad but will be a target for the pecking.
