What do you do, I understand that there is a good coating on eggs and you shouldnt soak them. I do wash mine under luke water and brush. Its the hanging around in the laying box with poo bits and expect the eggs to be coated with nasties.

I was told never to wash eggs as it lets the bacteria through the shell. I only sell clean eggs and if there are dirty ones I never wash them, I just leave them as they are and use them myself. Never had problems.

No, don't wash the eggs. They have a protective bloom on them - washing removes this and let's bacteria in.

If there is poo in the nest boxes, clean them out more often. If the chickens are sleeping in them, lift them out and put them on perches, then limit access to the nest boxes until early morning, it shouldn't take long to get them used to sleeping on perches rather than in the nest box.
