I'll either be so huge I can't walk or have a teeny weeny baby.
:(

(it's due on the 26th Nov, which is normally the day they choose - last sat of November)

(the :( was because I probably won't be able to make it - obviously it's a big Grin for the due date)

Our garden is about the same size as Riven's, we have 3 chooks in an Eglu with extended run, then they have about 1/4 of the garden fenced off for them. When we're in the garden they have the run of the whole thing as I can keep them off the veggies!

Riveninside · 17/06/2011 18:35

We now have 6 hens. Got 3 new ones today

oooh, you've got to post pictures!
Grin

Sadly i cant using the phone
We had a ginhernut and 2 miss pepperpots ( also known as red stars and black rocks) and we got a speckledy, bluebell and a light sussex.
The old girls are still clusterred in a corner being loudly disapproving while the new ones are perched inside the coop. No fighting at all, just noise. But the oldies are being very loud and as we are inner city, surrounded by fkats and houses i am anxious anout the neighbours.

ooh, it sounds like a Rainbow in your garden! Grin

if they're not fighting, that's a good sign.
I remember my last lot of newbies. hounded away from the food bowl.
they just wouldn't dare go near it. (that's mainly Rita's fault. little bitch Shock she was one of those ex-prisoners, and I think she learnt a lot of nasty aggressive habits inside. affectionate as you'd like with humans though....)
We did everything - had 4 different feeding bowls around the run, but each time they went near one, the oldies would scare them away. Then we built a run extension, and the newbies spent all their time in the extension and the oldies in the original run! (bed-time was fun, cos the newbies would wait until the oldies were in bed before venturing back in!)
it calmed down a lot after Rita died.

Its been raining heavily since i got tnem so i havent been able to go out and stare at them yet!

My older girls all have bald bums and backs despite anti peck. Its an established habit sadly. I am hoping they dont do it to my new attractive hens!

oh, i hope not too. :(
