What to pack in nappy bag for 2 under 2?

Hi all!

I'm due to have my 2nd baby in about 7 weeks time, and my 1st is almost 1. There will be approx 13-14 months between them.

Baby number 1 is a girl and baby number 2 is going to be a boy.

I'm a notorious overpacker and try to be organised as possible. I like to be ready for as many scenarios as possible: so much so, I even have "contingency bags" in the car for us all, filled with spare nappies, wipes, creams, bibs, cutlery, spare sippy cups, teething rings, medicine, clothes, blankets etc.

My nappy bag is overloaded as it is. To the point I take 2 bags: currently an LV Neverfull to hold:
nappies
wet wipes
dry wipes
nappy bags
spare clothes
wet/dry bags
calpol
gripe water
A few Nelson's Teetha sachets
spare dummy
muslin cloth
blanket
bib
changing mat
a couple of toys

And an LV speedy 35 currently serving as a sort of caddy holding:
baby snacks/pouch in a canister and cutlery depending on how long we will be out
bottle
aptimel ready to feed formula
my purse
my phone
my sunglasses
my insulin and glucose reading monitor (I have gestational diabetes... again...!)
a snack for myself if my sugar levels drop too low
my partners wallet
my partners phone
car keys

Both bags are packed to the brim and with a newborn coming along, I know that a few things will be doubled up (more nappies, more bottles, more spare clothes, another dummy, another blanket and bib).

I'd love to be able to consolidate everything into just 1 bag however I cannot see a way for this to happen.

Can those parents with 2 (or more) especially with 2 under 2 help to let me know what they pack and how they're able to consolidate everything into 1 bag, organised and visible?

Sorry for the detailed and long post, but I guess this is my nesting fixation this time around 🤣

I didn’t carry too much at once.

Nappies, how many? We used reusable so bulkier and if I was just going out a few hours I only took 1 or 2. Assuming I would change just before I left, I would only change every 3 hrs ish unless pooped. So if out 9-12/1, 2 would be max. And I also had a couple disposable and 1 reusable in car for back up on longer days out.

Never owned a changing mat. Just use the Muslim cloth for everything. Can wash when home.

get a pram and car seat toy clip thing. Then can leave a toy and pram book attached to pram and car seat straps. Save bag space.

Clothes for 2. Once baby out of newborn, you can probably just take one size for both. A 6 month old can just wear an 18 month old t shirt in emergency

washable wipes - take dry. Can just wet as needed with bottle water or from tap if in bathroom.

one calpol sachet for emergency is plenty. You only need enough to help them whilst your heading home if they suddenly get ill

blanket I always just folded and kept in pram. Under if hot.

A couple of nappies for each child, a pack of wipes, a thin changing mat, keep the change of clothes simple (long sleeved vest and thin trousers/leggings or a sleepsuit for your youngest),a couple of little toys and then your personal things.
Maybe keep a box of things in the car that is permanently stocked with nappies/wipes etc. Presumably you are unlikely to be out and away for the car all day so any emergency supplies can stay there to save you lugging everything about.

I would buy an actual changing bag instead of using fancy handbags where everything is in one space- changing bags have different sections which helps keep things organised, and they have a small fold up changing bag inside. I would then have a small backpack for your own items that you can also pop in some snacks for your eldest

I would have three nappies in each size, one packet of wet wipes, some Nappy bags, spare dummy, one dose of medicine if needed, and one set of spare clothes each.
Depending on how long you are out for would determine how many bottles you need to take with you. Your eldest being over 1 can just have cows milk in a sippy cup so wont need milk taken with you

I would then have a box in the boot of the car with a packet of each size of nappies, extra vests etc so you can top up the bag mid day out if needed.
