Cloth nappies.

I'm currently pregnant with my second child. This time I would really like to try cloth nappies and reusable wipes. I've been looking online and still have no idea except I know I dont like the bright design of most of the covers and some look really big and bulky. Is there any plain white ones out there that wont look bad under the childs clothes. Which brands should I look out for or avoid? Any help is appreciated thank you.

I think there is a website called 'the nappy lady.' She has a questionnaire you fill in and she comes back to you with your best option based on your answers

The nappy lady is great, and she also hosts a really helpful and supportive Facebook group. Try her survey, and she'll tell you which nappies are most suited to your needs www.thenappylady.co.uk/advice-questionnaire.html

I'm not a big fan of the flashy designs either, and use mostly Bum Geniuses. They're not too bulky, and come in pastel or plain colours. I also use Little Lambs, and they come in a HUGE array of plain (including plain white) and flashy designs, so I'm sure you'd find something to suit.

That's so fab you're thinking about using cloth nappies. They're better for the environment, and cheaper and also contain explosive poos a lot better. Good luck!

Bumgenius are very slim and come in a range of nice, plain colours. There’s a choice of ‘elementals’ (organic cotton), ‘freetimes’ (microfibre), or ‘flips’ (wraps with a choice of different inserts)

Oh bumgenius also do pocket nappies!

Thank you I've contacted the nappy lady. Has anyone used the little lamb nappies?

Ohh OP I could have written this myself!! I'm following with interest! Will also share any tips or good deals I find!

TheJoxter · 07/07/2019 23:06

There’s lots of Facebook pages for advice and for buying/selling so if you’re on Facebook that might be useful

Sorry I know I wrote Little Lamb but I meant Littles and Bloomz! The cheap pocket nappies. They're absolutely fine, though a bit chunkier than Bum Genius all in ones.

(I also use Little Lamb, but only the booster at night time.)

If you're based in London, your borough might run incentives to help you get into cloth nappies. My borough, Islington, offers £50 towards nappies, and regularly runs events where people bring nappies they no longer need and you take them for free. They're worth checking out - second hand cloth nappies are a great way to get started.

I came across tickle tots in waitrose - nice prints and I have enjoyed using them
