We bought a diesel Logan new in March 2017 which is now coming up to nine years old. Apart from consumables and routine servicing the only problem we've had was when an exhaust bracket rusted through and had to be replaced. It has been a brilliant car - comfortable, practical, anonymous, reliable and unbelievable value for money. We were so pleased with it one of our relatives bought an identical one in late 2017 which is also still going strong.
We were so impressed that we then bought a Dacia Jogger Hybrid to sit alongside it. This has also been absolutely brilliant - 19 months in and it has never missed a beat. It's practical, has a tremendous amount of space inside for a not-very-large footprint, cost-effective to run. For our needs right here and now it is perfect. Our final shortlist was this and the last model Skoda Kodiaq and even though it's a nice - even luxurious - car we simply didn't think the Kodiaq was worth £16k more, particular as the Jogger has far better access to the third row.
The dealer (Renault Retail Group, rather than a franchise) has been easy to deal with too and never once did the salesman give us the impression he was doing us a favour, unlike many others.
Current Dacia models have two things going for them which are also really, really important to me. First, they have physical controls for many functions including the heating and ventilation, so you don't need to delve around in sub-menus on a touchscreen to change the fan settings etc. Second, once you've set up your preferences in the system you can deactivate all the advanced driving aids you don't want with two touches of a physical button at the start of each journey, so you don't have to fight to control the steering wheel and so on.
