Our daughter is about to learn how to drive and we are looking for the best and most cost effective insurance for her. Any recommendations welcome please!

Veygo

Marmalade whilst learning to drive and then a choice of providers with a black box once passed.

Learner insurance is pretty cheap wherever you go. It’s when they pass that the insurance is expensive. Collingwood is good too

We are currently with Marshmallow but she can’t be added as they don’t insure under 21’s. My husband has found Hastings and Admiral-Hastings are much cheaper but don’t know how good they are and excess is more than Admiral….

Collingwood. It’s just for learners and cost us about £8 a week. I did my homework and this was by far the cheapest (also looked at most of those mentioned so far)

Hastings and admiral are pretty similar.

as pp says cover for learners is cheap until the pass then it shoots up

Yep another vote for collingwood. We did this for ds, he had his own learner policy on our car which had its own insurance policy for us.

Another vote for Collingwood here. We used it for DD 3 years ago and have just got a policy for DS. I think it was about £180 for a year on my 2015 Corsa.

I used Veygo for my DD when she was home from uni over Christmas. Four weeks was £53 as I chose the lower excess. Thought that was pretty good and imagine it gets relatively cheaper the longer the term.

Dd1 (17) went with collingwood. Was about £2-£300 for the year. Once she’s passed her test the policy gets cancelled as it’s only for learners but it allows her to drive and buildup a no claims discount as well.

Same, another vote for Collingwood.

Sterling was by far the best for both of mine as learners. Not once they passed though we had to shop around on comparison sites.
