Kinda stressing a little. I have UST received 3 points, didn’t realise I already had 3 and haven’t let insurance know. I’ll be contacting my insurance tomorrow however will they likely cancel my insurance or just put it up. My renewal is due April and now stressing.

They’ll put the new details back in and you’ll get a new payment plan

Shittyyear2025 · 01/01/2026 21:25

They might cancel because you didn't declare the points you already have. Either way you're fucked at renewal. Sorry.

What were the points for? I don't believe you didn't know about the first lot.

@Shittyyear2025
speeding 30 mph zone November 2024
speedinh 30moh October 2025

I paid the fine for the November one but never Received a letter to say I had points added to my licence. Didn’t think anything of it to check it.
My insurance renewed with them April 2025 and it was never brought up. Neither when my car was written off in March 2025 just before my renewal.

just had the fine come back as paid with points this time from October 2025.

my partner has now Been wdddf to my insurance which has already put it up. We have looked at multi car insurance and for my evoque and his bmw 1 series they want £5009. But to do my evoque singularlybis £1800. I am worried I will have to change my car x

So you have 6 points now? Yes the insurance will be sky high, why didn’t you do the speed awareness course the first time?

Hatelife2025 · 01/01/2026 21:36

@miamo12 because I had 3
Months left from a previous demeanour.

I have9 years NCD. I screwed up yes. Last years the speed limit had changed and this year have been caught by a camera that was hidden and 6000 people have been aight in last few months. I have learnt my lesson and bein extra cautious x

Your insurance will be very costly for the next few years. Rightly so, it sounds like you're a menace on the roads.

TheTwenties · 01/01/2026 21:50

My concern would be that they could say the Mar 25 claim wasn’t valid because you didn’t disclose the points received in Nov 24.

“It didn’t come up” because it’s 100% your responsibility to report any change in circumstances straight away.

ItsDarkNow · 01/01/2026 21:54

Maybe swap your evoque for a ford fiesta?

Sesma · 01/01/2026 22:08

So you actually claimed on the insurance after not disclosing the points

This is what I was thinking, rather than renewal I would be more concerned about this?

Erin1975 · 01/01/2026 22:15

Check your policy. Mine only says I have to let them know if I get convicted for certain offences of which speeding is not one.

You may not need to tell them until it is time to renew the policy.

It depends whether she was supposed to disclose the points when she got them in November, or at renewal. OP, have you checked your T&Cs re this? And were you asked about points on your licence when you submitted your claim in March?

Hatelife2025 · 01/01/2026 23:40

Was not asked about points on my licence for the claim.

ans I cannot find anything here on my insurance

"Information about you and changes to your circumstances" section, second paragraph. You need to check your full policy documents.

Hatelife2025 · 01/01/2026 23:55

Yes that’s all there is. I log back into my insurance and there is no other policy document on there

You'll need to call them in the morning then.

You can't say it was never brought up - you are always asked a series of questions including motoring convictions when you take out insurance and are read a statement about declaring anything which may affect or invalidate your insurance. You haven't got a leg to stand on and have likely committed a further offence
