We have traffic improvement works by where I live.
As you approach the roadworks there is a sign stating to go towards town turn left and to go towards the city turn right. It's a t junction.
You can go straight on and turn right or you can cut across diagonally and turn right too. I assume this second option is for long vehicles like lorries, trailers or buses who can't make the right angled turn.
However, some people in cars are going straight on and turning right and some people are going diagonally and turning right at the same time.
This obviously causes an issue where the lanes merge and as I travel this route twice a day I've witnessed a couple of near misses where drivers haven't realised there are two options and nearly collide. Am I right for thinking all traffic should turn right across the diagonal if they want to turn right?
Is the traffic management contractor negligent if there's an accident?
Should they not have put up a no right turn sign further down where I've written sign or would that have confused people even more??
I am positive there will be an accident soon. Luckily it will be a low speed accident as its a 30mph but even so. I think they've made a mistake but can't really work out how this could be avoided.
