Car recommendations for a family of 6!

Hi.
we have a discovery that we love for our family of 6 which includes a toddler (in a swival car seat), 2x teens (14&13) and a preteen(11) but unfortunately I had a car accident last year and so I had a claim on my insurance and it’s up for renewal and the renewal is too high. My husband car is on its last legs and we having savings and he loves the discovery. It’s a no brainer that he will take the discovery on without me on his insurance so it can stay low which also means I can’t borrow it in times I may need a 7 seater. So it’s likely I will likely need another 7 seater. So far I think we have ford smax on the list but that’s the only mvp I like. I love fords but they don’t love me and we had poor experiences. Also worried about the length of the car with school parking when super busy as it can get chaotic. This car is mainly used by me in the week and the school holidays running the teens around and school runs. We also looked at Peugeot 5008 but unsure I’ll like the small stirring wheel and not sold on it being Peugeot. The reviews are extremely mixed. I would love to get a Volvo xc40 but I think I’ll struggle particularly in school holidays when the teens want to have friends around (leaving some at home are not an option as some have SEN needs) the xc90 is far outside my price range. So really hoping someone can make personal recommendation’s.
just to help we are not wanting a Tiguan allspace or Citroens. Thank you xx

Renault Grand Scenic, or the Dacia Jogger

If you are buying second hand, seat Alhambra or VW Sharon, which are basically the same car. We are on our second one, most of my friends with large families have them as well. Sliding doors, boot space even with all the seats up, fold flat seats. They stopped making them in 2020 ish unfortunately.

Another Dacia Jogger vote here.

Low purchase and running costs, including insurance. It's only 4.5m long and is a narrow car externally, but with plenty of space inside. There are three equally sized seats in the middle row and the third row will accommodate adults. Access to the third row is a lot better than most 7-seat SUVs.

We have the hybrid version which is mostly used for local running about and we average over 60mpg in the summer, which fell to about 50mpg during the long cold period in Jan/Feb. Badge snobs look down on it, of course, but it is all the car we need, has nothing we don't need, and is absolutely perfect for us.
