Anyone got one and can share experience? I'd have to buy a 4/5 year old one. My husband drives electric but my current car is diesel with 500 miles on one tank. Can't work out if I should go electric or run my car until it dies (it's 10 years old)...

Do literally anything other than by a secondhand Jag. Reliability is horrendous, repairs costly.

What's the current 10 Yr old diesel car and the mileage? Unless it's getting expensive to service and maintain I'd run it until it becomes uneconomical to repair. Having 1 car non electric is useful for the freedom to undertake longer journeys without needing to charge.

If you only ever do short commutes in the household a second electric car may make sense but for the love of God and your bank balance pick literally any other manufacturer.

Current car is 80,000 and to be fair I love it. I also do love the range compared to EV... Didn't know Jags were that bad ConfusedConfusedConfused

I’m on my second diesel F-Pace and they have both been fantastic. In the near 10 years I’ve had them the biggest bit of maintenance I’ve had to carry out was replacing a windscreen wiper blade.

They have been by far the most reliable vehicles I’ve ever owned. I think much of the negative reputation regarding reliability is an urban myth.

@Silentdream in all fairness the diesel engines are probably the most reliable and theres no doubt the inerior and driving experience cis lovely. Are you having these from new and keeping for circa 4-5 years?

From memory I think k the F Pace is the same platform as the range rover evoque and electrical gremlins become more frequent across most JLR cars from year 4/5 onwards meaning they are not a reliable used car buy for OP at that age And costly to repair. A friend bought a 4 year old Fpace in lockdown, loved it fir 18 months then had electrical issues in year 5 and 6 before she got rid.

OP have a read of independent reliability surveys online across all brands when looking to invest in any car whether EV or not at that age to know what you're getting into. Brands with mediocre reliability may still be a sensible buy if you can find a lower mileage, FSH and one previous owner example.

It’s not. JLR consistently score bottom of just about every reliability survey/index going. A friend of mine who has had a long career as a service manager for a number of brands went to LR, he lasted 6 months before telling them
to shove it due to constant issues and having to deal with so many unhappy customers.

apologies if I'm too late to this, but my second hand (19 plate) I pace is on it's 3rd major fault I think. The first problem was when it just stopped after using a public charger. AA got it going again but it's never been the same since. Second was when it jammed in Park and showed 15 fault signals when plugged into diagnosis at the garage. Now, there's been a loud clunk, a constant knocking noise, and a pice of metal left on the driveway from under the car. Can't get it booked into garage until end of April.
Wish I'd gone for an VW id4 which we looked at.
