Hi

Company car arriving in the next few days but sadly our install for the charger has been delayed by (another) 3 weeks so will be relying on the charging network.

Can anyone spare a few minutes to share their experience of charging on the Tesla network? How is it paid for? Do you get fined for staying on charge once it's full? Do you get notified when it is full.

What is charging like on the non Tesla network.

Please feel free to talk to me like I'm stupid because I know absolutely nothing.

Thanks

You need the Tesla app - this is linked to your car and your phone is used instead of a key. When you download the app you can add a credit card and this is used to pay for charging. Once the car arrives you 'link' your phone to the car (I honestly can't remeber how to do this - but google will tell you). Using Telsa superchargers is a doddle - just drive up, plug it in and the charging/payment happens automatically. You do get charged in you remain in a changing spot once you've finished charging your car. The app will tell you how long it will take to charge your car and so you can keep an eye on it and know when it will be finished.

I've never used a non-Telsa charger - there seem to be lots of different options all requiring a different app but I've always charged at home or at a Tesla charger.
