I have been searching for a bedpan on the internet, but I'm struggling to know which to choose from, I had no idea there were so many - any recommendations?

It will be for an 85 year old lady who has Dementia and has recently had a broken hip followed by a dislocation!

Regards

actually no idea how many there are really...but I would say something that has is not to cold...as "metal" pans are...not to hard, neither...however not to soft....i.e. nothing that once you sit/lay on it will loose shape and thereofr let all the water out....
When working, a few years ago, in a Hospital we had plastic bedpans, which seemed to be o.k. enough for females and males

tbh, bedpans, whilst they have their place, are really not that good, as in, not everyone can actually go on them....
and I know sometimes bedpans will make all the difference, but it is something to consider...iykwim...

we use a slipper pan. dd is in a wheelchair and it seems really comfatble for her to use and quiet desreet(oh and we have had no spillages. only problem is it is not very deep) but ideal for our and about use.

Thankyou both for your advice, it's much appreciated.

As I would feel happier just having one in the house before she returns home - I will probably go for a Slipper Bedpan!

Thanks again

they are about £12 and you shouldn't have to pay VAT
you might find it handy to also have some of the small protecter sheets to put under when useing.(my dad did this with sm)

Thanks, I have a list of things to purchase including the protective sheets, adult nappies, wipes etc.
