Hello, I claim carers and Dla for my daughter who has profound autism, she’s 5 next week and we sent the renewal forms away in January for her dla, I’ve just recieved a letter from carers saying that because my dla claim is ending so is my carers claim on the 13/5 I’ve called dla and they’ve said it’s not ending, that they should be done processing our renewal by the 8/5 has anyone had this? What happened?

Update: recieved a letter from dla today she’s staying at middle rate care, and will now receive low rate mobility too, I called carers and they’ve been notified so carers will continue

If she elopes constantly, appeal the low rate mobility asap

I’m glad to see the renewal went through. I was just popping on to say the carers letter is a generic letter that goes to anyone claiming whose DLA is about to end.
HRM needs professional evidence of a physical disability meaning the child is virtually unable to walk, or professional evidence that the child has a severe mental impairment. Google DLA high rate mobility flow chart, you’ll need professional evidence for every single step.

OP, you said your child doesn’t sleep- I think you should be getting high rate care.

I don’t claim universal credit at all, I never phoned them. I called carers allowance and dla

Glad that went through OK if anything changes please please apply again saying there is a change as soon as things get worse , if you have medical advice it does help it's a step by step process , l don't mean to be nasty or anything that is how our system works 3 or 6 months any change advise immediately please . There are a lot of trolls moaning about dla um p.i.p etc take no notice at all . Just re apply. Minty doggy ( that's de westie )

That's great!!

obviously, it's not great that you and her both are in the position to need it, but it's great you're getting it when you do need it💕

Carers said it was ending

It's all somewhat irrelevant now, don't you think?
