If you’re thinking of becoming a foster carer or are currently a foster carer, here is my guide to avoid the National Fostering Group (NFG), also known as National Fostering Agency (NFA).

  • Safeguarding issues within the agency
  • Senior management lack accountability for their actions.
  • Urgent concerns ignored when raising genuine concerns to Regional Directors and Management.
  • Staff well-being is not seen as important.
  • Staff pressured into situations that affect their mental well being.
  • The health and safety of staff not taking into account.
  • Children and Carers are seen as numbers for company targets and not as people.
  • Lack of empathy from Regional Directors and the CEO.
  • Lack of support for staff.
  • You receive roughly £300 a week per child per week but NFG will charge a local authority £1,200 per child per week, sometimes higher dependant if enhanced or standard … so you’re underpaid for the level of care you provide or the needs of the child.

If you’re thinking of fostering, please avoid NFG / NFA like the plague and go with another organisation that’ll have your’s and children‘s needs first, rather than base you or a child in need as a number to hit a stat.

Are you a disgruntled employee or something? I hope for your sake that you have solid evidence for your allegations.
