Do you get yearly pay rises without asking for it?
If you do/don’t what profession are you in?

Did you mean for this to be on the carers board? Just asking as you mention different professions!

I'm not a carer (well, not a paid one!) but I work in tech. In the past it's happened without asking (retail/logistics, cost of living type 3% bumps) and tech (5%) ~ now still in tech but for a US company and if I didn't argue for it, I wouldn't get it.

Im a senior manager in the recruitment industry so we don't get standard pay rises as such, I was on the same salary for five years and then due to salary banding analysis and promotions I ended up with a total £17k pay rise over the next three years at the same company. So very dependant on circumstances for me in my role!
