French nanny

I am considering having my children with a nanny one day a week. They go to a childminder most of the week but she does not have capacity to take them for this one day that I now need to work. It looks like a nanny will make the most sense. I have found a nanny who is French. I like the idea of my kids picking up French at such a young age (they’re 1 and 3). The nanny is on the higher end of nanny costs in our area. She is older, has lots of experience, and obviously speaks french so I’m sure it’s justified. I’m thinking of seeing if she could just immerse them in French when with them that one day.

Do we think this French immersion one day a week would be worth that added expense? Is it just going to weird out my kids and confuse them? Would they acquire the language? My dad is fluent in French and I plan to also have at least my 3 year old FaceTime with him in French weekly. If this is something we pursue I’d figure out a way to keep her on when they go to primary- like a French tutor or something so would keep up with it but they wouldn’t be as immersed! Thoughts? Has anyone gone this route with a bilingual part time nanny?
