Will Eras tour concert allow “safe foods” in for mr son?

Hi. My son is off to Taylor Swift concert this evening with his carer. He has ARFID , he has autism but will cope with walking in and it being busy having carer and a friend but he eats a very limited diet. He’ll have lunch before they set off but he’ll need his “safe food” snacks and water for the evening/night as he will not eat anything for sale in there. I’ve e mailed and filled out info on website but haven’t heard back from anyone on whether he’ll be allowed a bigger bag than the A4 size they are saying is now only allowed and his own food and water. Anyone had a similar experience and was allowed in with their food and water therefore requiring a bigger than allowed bag? Many thanks.

What does he eat out of interest? (My autistic child is smaller). My ds can't eat in any unusual situation.

Has he been to concerts before?

When they go in to buy merch and see the opening act it’ll be about 4.45 so that’s why I was thinking it was a long time from entry at 4.45 until 11pm. I mean I’m silly really as he’d hardly be ravishing but I like to think it’s there if he needs it.
He’ll just have to accept filling up his bottle and it not being the water brand he’s used to or go thirsty.

Totally different event and venue, but in a similar situation a few years ago I was told I could bring in entirely unbranded food e.g a home made cheese sandwich, but nothing in packaging that displays a logo of any kind.

A4 size is 2-dimensions but reality is 3-dimensions. A bag that is A4 size on 4 faces and smaller on the other 2 would have a volume of 16 litres (4 big bottles of milk).which is way more than would be needed for a reasonable amount of food. E.g. this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Smash-Insulated-Lunch-Black-Basic/dp/B017OUFLMA/
Is a lot smaller than thar and will take a good sized packed meal.

Who did you send your query to? If you have contacted the access and disability team directly they should be able to help, but if you submitted it as a general query then they may not see this as an access and disability issue.

That's A4 on 2 sides. You can't have A4 on 4 sides and 2 smaller. It doesn't work

He’ll eat a roast dinner but now it’s just the chicken and roast potatoes and sometimes peas. He’ll eat corn on the cob. He’ll eat croissants, cheese strings , ham but he won’t eat these two things if they are out of the fridge for hours so I can’t make a sandwich for the day or take these out and about as he considers it old food by lunchtime 🤦‍♀️
He’ll eat Dairy milk choc bar, maltesers, quavers.
He’ll eat steak and mushrooms.
He’ll eat chicken nuggets (mc d’s nuggets) & fries.
He’ll now eat chips from most places.
He’ll eat sausages but only a certain brand and only if I grill them (grill is broken and I airfried and he said they taste awful)
He notices any tiny change in prep or brand.
He’ll eat toast and peanut butter but not just any bread or any old peanut butter.
Bacon.
So all in all we are so much better than the younger years but when out for a few hours or holidays it’s always on my mind what we can get. I get fed up sometimes and think he’ll eat if he’s hungry enough but he actually doesn’t if it’s not anything above. He’d go hungry that try alternatives. He’ll heave and gag trying new foods - many foods seem to be very unpleasant for his taste buds, I’ve never known anyone with such a sensitive palate. I know he’d like to be able to. My husband was the same as a child but eats most things now so I’m hoping as taste buds mature he’ll be able to manage a much more varied diet.

@Hucklemuckle a cuboid has 6 faces. 4 of them can be A4 297mm x 210mm and the other two can be square 210mm x 210mm - I obviously wouldn't expect op to find a bag of those exact dimensions but anything less than 297 x 210 x 210 would meet the specification.

Great news OP. I hope some of the posters here who’ve told you it wouldn’t be possible have learned something. Reasonable adjustments apply to everything

Ds had food with him at Murrayfield, when they searched him, he told them he was a diabetic & they allowed him to take it in with him.

Thanks for updating, interesting.
The chips bit is helpful I guess (although boring for you no doubt)
