Caring for elderly relatives? Supercarers can help

Do any of the supermarkets deliver free for elderly housebound people? You'd have thought they might...

Also, Ocado seems to have a minimum spend of £40 for delivery, which is quite high for my dad.

Tbh I wouldn't have thought that they might. They are a business with the primary motive being profit, and are accountable to shareholders. Hard but true.

Some delivery slots with Ocado are as little as £2 (it depends upon the time slot selected)...but then that's false economy since it is so much cheaper with Tesco etc

Somerfield and Iceland do free local delivery on £25+ spends I think.

Fauve · 01/04/2008 00:16

Oh Milge, Somerfield would be perfect and £25 quid is reasonable. I will ask at his local one. Thanks, all. I just think they might consider it as part of community service, while the vans are going round; but no, it wouldn't add to their profits.
