Hi,

I have a child who has disabilities. Now at school am ready to use my spare time to do something for myself. Job starts in jan. I am £4 under the threshold so will still be able to claim CA. I do however get £44 child tax credits. Will I lose my carers due to child tax? I will be able to get rid of child tax credits can I do that? I don't want to be worse off

Many thanks in really worried.

I don’t think tax credits count.
I recently started a job, only my new income was considered.

Be warned, they stop CA whilst looking into it. You’ll need wage slips and employment details, and be prepared to ring up to hurry it up as they take their time!

Thank you so much. I did ask employer to send a description of wage and hours. 0 hour contract but only to do the 11 a week. I am so stressed!!! Xx

Also how long do they stop for? I don't get paid until the end of feb so I need to prepare myself. Thank you

Does anyone have any idea how long they hold your ca for? I've got an email from employee to say I will only be doing my hours and no overtime. Many thanks
