Britax 2 way elite. Need advice/perspective

My DD (2.3) is in a Britax 2 way elite which is rear facing. This seat is in my car and my mum has a key to it because she also drives it. Unfortunately, in a fluster, she gave the keys to my car to her DP without my permission and he sat in the front seat (which the back of the rear facing car seat is tethered to and wedged against as it was fitted in the in car safety centre in MK) and rammed it back (with his 21 stone weight) against my DD's car seat.

My DD's seat was tightly and well fitted and I think that he would have used a huge amount of force to move the front seat whilst my DD's seat was fully fixed in position (he did not attempt to undo it).

Basically, is my DD's car seat damaged and should I get a replacement.

I am absolutely fuming. He is not even insured to drive my bloody car, he approached my mum in a difficult position and got the keys and took my car without my permission. And I think he's damaged my DD's car seat which was £195

I am in the very fortunate position of being able to afford to pay £195 to replace this seat if it is necessary but I live 3 hours away from the place I got it and I had a day out with the kids planned tomorrow.

WWYD? I get really stressed about car safety which was why I went to the trouble of getting DD this one in the first place.

maybe try calling the place you got it for advice? they may be able to suggest what points/bits of it you need to check

take the covers off
you should be able to inspect the plastic and foam for damage

mmm, not sure! i would call the in car safety centre and ask them what they think. i have moved the seat back with the twe still belted in before but have always undone the tethers first iykwim and then pushed the twe so it is resting on the back of the back seat. hopefully not maybe just the tethers if they were on the runners.

the tethers are attached to the actual front seat itself so they moved at the same time as the front seat, they were not on the runners or anything that is static.

I will take it all off and look at it and call the shop!

thanks everyone!

i would guess probably ok then as i would guess that the tethers allowed to set to move when the front seat was pushed back, but yes call shop for advice.
