Hello

See link above for the seat I am planning on buying.

I don't need a seat that I can carry around with me.

I never saw these seats when pregnant with my other two children and they look much roomier and comfortable than the birth - 12 mths seats.

But I dont know anyone who has one, do you and would you recommend it?

Also do you have this make and are happy with it?

Thank you.

they're fine, but you'd want to try it in your car first as we tried the bebe confort iseos and it wouldn't fit in either of our cars as the seatbelts weren't long enough to go round

personally we have rear-facing car seats (for use until they're around 4ish/25kg) which i'd highly recommend. rear-facing is a lot safer, we got ours from the in car safety centre in milton keynes

hi, i've heard that too about some seat belts being too short for these seats. the baby carrier seats may last longer than you think depending on the weight of your child. i had the maxi cosi cabrio for ds and he was out of it at 14 months but my mindee is still in hers at 16 months and has loads of room left in it!

i would second the extended rear facing-we have moved ds to the britax two way elite and it should last him until he's 6 yo(25kgs).

We looked at one when DD was 7 months but once it was in the car there was a such a tiny space left between seat, door frame and seat belt that it would have been a nightmare trying to get DD into it. I'd also prefer to keep DD RF past 13kg.

DD is now 2.7 and RF in a BeSafe IziKid. Its a lovely seat but I'm not sure I'd want to put a newborn in it (the recline isn't anywhere near what her infant carrier had).

thank you!

just been reading about the rear facing seat and really worried about the forward facing seat my 3 year old is in.

i bought it as it was in the top ten on this site and my 6 years olds which i bought when she was 3 was recommended by which but from what i've read tonight, both of their seats are not suitable for a three year old.

we have a 2 way lite and a besafe izi combi x2

the besafe is supposedly suitable from birth but the in car safety centre don't recommend it and the lady said that the man from besafe had said that he wouldn't use it for a newborn either!!!
so i guess that means it's been tested and meets criteria, but isn't necessarily the best option for a newborn

devotion, i think as with anything you have to weigh up the pros and cons tbh

besafe recommend that their seats are used rear-facing until at least 2.5yrs, which indicates that they think 2.5 woul dbe ok to forward face, althoug not necessarily ideal

bearing in mind your child is 3, they may not be able to go rear-facing for that long now anyway (depends on weight etc)

of course the ideal solution would be to put 3 yr old and baby rear-facing, but you also have to think about cost, how long you'll use the seats for, whether you;d get them in the car... all sorts
we do what we have to do, so don't feel bad if you can't put your 3 yr old rear-facing

my 4 yr old has stayed forward facing, but we swapped the 2 yr old, and got another rear-facing for the baby

op your linked seats are no good if you have larger children. My boys were out of them at just turned 2 years old and went into high back boosters. Ds2 also had to go front facing very quickly as he was out of the weight range for the rear facing quite quickly.

They seem to be better suited to teeny girl babies who stay smaller and lighter for longer!

Seats such as Izikid and Britax Hi-Way are approved from birth and safe for a child. But it's usually more practical to use an infant seat the first few months.

There is one seat which is great for a newborn and that's DuoLogic which is made by Akta/Graco. It's approved 0-18 kg and can also be installed with Isofix or seat belt. Seat shell is pretty high but seat is compact and also fit small cars. DuoLogic has a bucket seat which slides into the base which means it can also be used as an infant seat. Please let me know if you want to see photos ([email protected])

Britax First Class is not a bad seat but it's only rear facing to 13 kg which is way too short time. That means turning child around before age 2 for most parents which is 500% less safe.
