hello. does anyone know the best buys from Which? tests for the car seats that would fit my 9 month old? i am swamped with so much choice, and reckon should just go with the one that got the best score.....

you also have to make sure that the seat fits your car correctly,
try mothercare/halfords/toys r us they will check which seats fit in your car,

This is from a which report - a girl in our NCT group subscribes to Which and sent this to me.

The main criteria is safety for side and front impact, but Which also tests for ease of use, ease of fitting (ie avoiding incorrect usage).

The first one is their top rated and the score shows how Which rates them overall. The prices are current market prices, but you may be able to get them more cheaply.

hi have you thought of a rear facing group 1? they are 5 time safer than a forward facing car seat. for more info look on www.rearfacing.co.uk

we have the britax 2 way elite for ds 16 months and he loves it and so do we. is easy to fit and fits in small cars too(my mum's clio) we got ours from www.incarsafetycentre.co.uk and they were really helpful, tried loads of them in our car and then fitted this one for us.

oh and ours was £185 so not any more expensive than many ff seats!!

oopsacoconut we did but i had nearly bought a maxi cosi isofix when i stumbled across the rf website! can't believe that it's not more widely broadcast. am in the process of changing my car seats to rf that i use for childminding!!

I researched rearfacing seats but in the end decided to go for the Kiddy Infinity Pro as I don't drive and need something easy to move between cars - was happy that this is the safest seat of this type as well and I like the impact shield as opposed to the 5 point harness.

just bought the kiddy infinity pro. hope it fits in a fiat panda!

I have been to try 4 different rear facings in my car and they are all too big - the front seat has to be right forward and upright, which means I can't have anyone in the passenger seat which is useless in a family car! DD's maxicosi goes upto 13kg so we are just going to leave her in it until she is too tall or reaches 13kg which ever comes first.
