Hello all

Does anyone have an opinion on these 2 HBBs? Im in SW London but cant seem to find anywhere/anyone that sells these both so finding it hard to test it out in person and need some opinions.

Im going to buy one of the 2 before the end of the year, 7yo ds is just over 120cm/20kg so was wanting to have made the decision and be ready to buy once he outgrows the minikid.

I definitely want the crotch guard so have landed on these 2, NB my mum often sits in the middle of what will be this and another minikid so I dont want her to be too squished in (octavia estate)

Thanks!

If they are a similar price the Besafe is much nicer IMO.

It's huge to the sides but it has these massive side impact things which you can clip off on the side that faces the middle.

It's more comfy apparently. The neck pillow thing is great and serves as a guard to stop the belt rubbing DC's neck when they are in a t-shirt, whereas a lot of children are apparently annoyed by the XP-Pad that Britax have. The crotch guard folds flat and tucks under the cover when they are older and don't want it any more.

The main thing which used to put me off this seat was the price but I can see it's about £200-220 currently which is not bad. Britax Kidfix also has offers though so it's £150 which is a good price too.

See if you can find a Besafe stockist. All the Britax seats are built on similar frames so you can easily find a Britax HBB seat to try if you can't find that specific model.

Have you looked at Car Seat Margaret or is she too far? I am not sure if she sells Besafe though.

My child tried the BeSafe and the Britax and I completely agree with @BertieBotts. The BeSafe is so much nicer and worth the extra money. The Britax felt hard to sit on and my child found it really uncomfortable. The BeSafe is more padded and the neck pillow is supportive too. It’s narrow at the base, so within a few days my child was able to independently fasten/unfasten the seat belt. We’ve had a few friends kids in it, who have all said how comfy it is. We also use it with kneeguard footrest which I think is worth the investment.

Thanks @BertieBotts, I have bought from Margaret before but the two seats are sold out on her website atm, but will actually message her and ask when shes getting some more in, DS finds thr minikid gives him a number bum on long journeys so if thr britax is a bit hard I will avoid.

Interesting about the besafe, I definitely want to get him a nice comfy one as it' his last car seat. If I had 2 of these one day, would it still be OK for an adult to sit comfortably in thr middle occasionally? My car's an estate so not super wide but a good width.

Will look at the footrest too thanks!

TBH I don't know - my friend has an Octavia and two child seats in the back and it's a squeeze for an adult to fit in between.

It was always touted as one of the best for 3 across on the car seat groups, so I don't know that other seats are any slimmer. One thing you could do if you have 2 adult 2 child passengers is move the oldest/tallest child to the front with booster in order to leave more space for the adults in the back.

Thanks, I see the width is the same as the MK and that's OK for my mum but obviously you only get the seat touching the adult at the bottom atm and having it mear your shoulders might be less emjoyable (although my 5.5 yo is still under 18kg so I dont think I will have 2 boosters for a loooong time)

I have two of the besafes for my kids and they both really like them. We have a Dacia jogger and I've been able to sit in the middle seat in-between both of them.
My oldest has never complained about the comfort in the besafes and she complains about most things! I've used them in a range of different cars and always had a good fit. Friends of mine that have the britax hbb have said their kids preferred our besafes when travelling in our car
