Which baby carrier with slightly sloped seats?

With my first we had a Cybex Cloud Z and had a lot of problems with head flop which we only really got around by ditching the base. We have a Ford Focus and the seats seem slightly sloped which I think is what was causing the problem.

Looking to buy a new seat for a 2nd baby and wondering which option would be best to avoid the same problem again. It will also need to either fit behind a tall driver or in the front seat with airbag off as DD is currently in a huge ERF seat. Must also be easy to carry into the house

Hi OP,
I had a similar issue with the BeSafe infant carrier which I used on the isofix base in a Polo. We had a great fit for baby, but awful head flop which I now know was due to the sloping seats.
If I were to have another baby now I would absolutely go for the Avionaut Pixel Pro and belt it in to avoid the issue with the isofix base on sloping car seats. A slightly more budget friendly seat would be the Cosmo.

You might want to look at bases which can have the angle adjusted. Britax do one, the Flexbase version of their bases have adjustable angle. Or Joie i-Base Advance. I think that might be it at the moment.

If you opt for belt fitting instead I would go for Maxi Cosi because they tend to be smaller seats so easier to fit with the short Ford belts, and designed better for regular belt installation (compared with Cybex which felt like it was designed as more of an occasional thing). But most of their seats are only certified up to 75cm, which is a bit of a pain.

Thanks both for the suggestions. Would prefer one with an Isofix base if possible but would also consider a belted one.

It may be wishful thinking but would be great if the infant seat lasted DC2 until DC1 is ready for a high backed booster. DC1 will be almost 3.5 years when DC2 is born and is tall (90th percentile).

Any Britax seat will comfortably last over a year I reckon. I'm not sure offhand which work with the flex base. Joie ones some of them have the 75cm limit so wouldn't be as long lasting.
