Maxi Cosi Pearl 360 Pro

Hi,
Those who have/ have used the Maxi Cosi Pearl 360 Pro, could you advise how long your LO was actually rear-facing in it for? I understand it can be used up to 4 years rear facing, but would like some honest/ realistic reviews. I'm considering the AxKid extended rear facing seats up to 7 years so any honest reviews of this I'd be interested to hear also.
Thanks in advance!

My son is still rear facing in it at 3 but is very tall so almost outgrown it (but he is unusually tall so I would say if more on average centiles would be fine until nearer 4/4).

This is really helpful thank you. I've had such a struggle getting a baby car seat that will last up to 3/4 years and a high back booster that gives my eldest (who is tall enough to not require car seat) enough space to sit in the middle, enough that he's comfy and not squished. And this is the only car seat that works but I was concerned it wouldn't really last rear-facing for long. If I turn it forward facing my eldest still fits but it's not comfortable for him.

It has a lower weight limit than other isofix spin type seats - 17kg rather than 18-20kg which others have. That can be an issue unless DC is on lower centiles.

The leg room like many spin seats is also not that great past about age 2/3.

Axkid will get you to age 4 more reliably and comfortably - the Minikid 2 is on sale still and cheaper than the Pearl (if you don't already have it).

It can also be more comfy for the older child without car seat to be on one of the sides, so having either the Minikid or the HBB in the centre seat, or another RF option in the centre without support leg, like Graco Slimfit R129.

Of course, the Maxi Cosi would need to be on a side because it needs isofix. So then if you wanted to try the oldest child on the other side, you'd be looking at the shape of the HBB next to the MC base and seeing what fits there (and whether it can turn).

Really useful info thank you. I am definitely going to try the Axkid to see what the fit is like. The measurement of the width is the same as the Pearl 360 so it should work just the same but it's always best to try in the car first.

The overall width doesn't tell you very much about comfort for fitting three across, especially if it's a person sat next to the seat as they need to check whether it has uncomfortable sticky out bits in the wrong place. You might also want to try a Britax ERF seat if the Axkid seller has them - I understand that the shape of the seats, if you looked down from above, is sort of flared and (just talking about the plastic base parts) the Axkid is wider towards the back of the car than towards the front, whereas the Britax is the opposite. However I can't remember if that was relating to the current model or the old one (Max Way). Spin seats tend to be flat here.

The other thing is that because the Pearl is isofix, it's fixed where it has to be placed on the seat, whereas you can get a tiny bit of side to side wiggle room with a belt fitted seat, especially with tethers like the Axkid seats have, and that can make all the difference.

Ds is 2 and a half but really tall and solid for his age so he is now almost at the point of having outgrown it too. He's 90th centile for height and 75th for weight. If your child is lower on the centile chart then you might get more use out of it. I did like that it spinned easily, installed easily, was alright to clean after a few car bokes and ds always seemed comfy enough and well supported in it.
