Hi,

Does anyone have any information on the safety (or otherwise) of the Miniuno Triipie seat: https://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/baby/car-seats-and-bases/r129-car-seats/miniuno-tripiie-r129-car-seat/p/230035?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA8q--BhDiARIsAP9tKI0azB_Jy6a-UR-kDI89pyI-WfIctRcIBz1Z4unz2pxDq8gv8kzQMXoaAtaREALw_wcB

I can't find much out about it online but my little girl found it really comfortable. She's 5 and 112cm. We've had her rear facing up until now but she says her current seat isn't comfortable.

Thanks

It looks like a fairly generic one. There is nothing wrong with generic HBBs as long as you can get a good fit with it. From the product photos, the fit of the lap belt looks as though it will be fine for most children. You want to check that it is running across her pelvis, that's the most important part, not over her tummy or too far down her thighs.

If you wanted to, you will probably get better side impact protection in the head piece in a more recognised brand, for example Graco Junior Maxi i-size is a similar price. (I don't know how comfortable it is). Although there is also an argument that side impact head protection is mostly irrelevant because pre-crash braking will take the child's head forward outside of this protection anyway.

Personally if you have isofix in your car, I do find it useful to have a booster seat with isofix, simply because it stops the seat from moving around as the child climbs into it. Ideally, you should secure a non-isofix booster seat with the seatbelt when not in use, to prevent it being a projectile as well. But other than this, there's no problem with it not being isofix.

@BertieBotts thank you for your help. Will have a look at the Graco and some isofix options.
