Should be a sliding switch at front of seat which enables u to turn it to the front

BertieBotts · 26/12/2024 12:44

Depending on the exact Joie seat you have, there is a sliding switch as said, or there is a button near the front on the base to allow it to turn.

It is worth knowing that the reason those blocks are there is to get you to think about whether you REALLY need to FF just yet - for a baby of 18 months it is still quite risky for them to FF if you were in an accident, rear facing is much safer, so worth continuing as long as your LO is happy and comfortable.

Hi thank you the model I have is the joie spin 360. I cannot see any button on the front. There are two sort of handles, one allows you to tilt the seat and the one at the bottom allows you to turn it sies yo seat a child and then turn to face the rear. It will not turn forwards. The only buttons are one on each side of the base that controls the isofix adjustment. The seat has on the underside the model number
C1416ZABPP000 20209914
will attach a photo if I can. Covers are off as I have just cleaned them.
The child will be two years old in February and has long legs and looks uncomfortable facing rearward. Thank you for any help

Hi OP,
No advice on the issue with your seat, but I would echo what @BertieBotts has said about the safety of rear facing for longer. Spin seats don’t offer a lot of leg room as the seat must be fitted flush with the back of the car seat. That being said, babies and children are more comfortable with their legs bent / crossed, so please don’t worry if you think this is making them look squashed.
If leg space is an issue, you could look into purchasing a longer lasting ERF seat which will give plenty of leg room for child up to 125cm in height.

Ah I see the problem - you don't have the Joie 360 Spin. You have the Joie Spin Safe. It's a rear facing only seat. I can tell that because the recline guide you have there only has a blue indicator, the Joie 360 has both red and blue indicators (under the R44 regulation, red was used to show forward facing instructions and blue is used to show rear facing instructions). I haven't looked up the model number but I would guess this will be the case as well.

The seat can only be used rear facing, all the way up to 18kg which is around 4 years old. It does have a bit less leg room than other seats on the market - it might be possible to extend the isofix a tiny bit to allow more room here.

We also found our DC are more comfy when we take their shoes off, especially with bulkier winter shoes. (Wellies are helpful for this). Remember also, that what would be uncomfortable for an adult isn't necessarily uncomfortable for a child. They can cross their legs or stretch them up the back of the vehicle seat if that's more comfy for them.
