Help, looking for a car seat

Hi, does anyone know what car seats will fit in to a Ford Fiesta 2008?
My car doesn't have isofix and just found out it has a short seat belt too so the Joie we bought doesn't fit.
Thanks for your help!

What age/weight/height is your child and what type of car seat is it you're looking for?

Also have you tried the short seatbelt method:

Hi, thanks for replying!
She's 8.9kg and 71.5cm. So should fit it the 0-12month car seat we already have but time goes so fast especially with Christmas etc!

Thanks for the video! I think I'd sort of tried this but definitely will give it another go tomorrow!

OK with those stats I don't think you need to rush into a new seat, as you should have a while longer in the one you already have, even taking Christmas into account. Do you know what the limits of it are? A lot of them are 13kg and 75cm but some have a bigger height allowance e.g. 83/85/87cm.

How old is she also sorry? It does make a difference, as a 4 month old with those stats would probably have another couple of months to go to reach 75cm whereas a 12mo would probably have 3-4 months left. If their head is physically still within the shell of the seat, then it's not an absolute disaster to accidentally go slightly over the height limit though would be worth changing the seat ASAP if you did notice this.

Ideally for a non isofix seat particularly with short seatbelts you'd want to be looking at one of the Swedish type ERF seats - Axkid Minikid, Avionaut Sky, Britax Safe Way M for example. They are more expensive than the Joie seats, though. If you were looking at a cheaper model for example the older Axkid Move, or Minikid 2, then they won't normally fit a child until they are around 80cm tall, roughly a year old and sitting up well.

The newer seats like Minikid 4 and Britax Safe Way or Max Space are suitable from around 6 months (min 61cm) so would be OK now, but are more expensive. Or Avionaut Sky is also one which you could use now as it's suitable from birth.

She's 10 and a half months old. I probably do have more time than I think.
I have a Joie i snug2, it will be a while before she's 13kg but 75cm limit seems closer. I really appreciate the advice!

Ah yeah the 75cm limit is a pain. You will likely be OK through to the new year which might potentially bring January sales, but it might not be a bad idea to see if you can find a local ERF specialist and have a look at the Swedish type seats, if you can't get the Stages to work.

Another option is to fit it in the front seat with airbag disabled. But you'd need to remember to enable it if you ever had an adult passenger there.

Thanks so much for your help!

Will look into the ERF specialist and hope they have a January sale! 😊
