Joie car seat stuck!

Just fitted my new Joie swivel and got confused by the instructions I fitted it without using the plastic inserts in the isofix and now it's stuck!
Baby due in less than 2 weeks and panicking about how to bring baby home if I can't get it unstuck, any suggestions how I can release it? TIA

If it’s fitted with or without inserts it doesn’t mean it stuck, the inserts only assist with fitting if your isofix is deep. Are you squeezing the two buttons on the bit that goes into either isofix to release them?

Thanks but yes, tried squeezing both buttons moving the seat etc, spent hours yesterday trying to release but no luck

Can you drive to a Halfords or somewhere else that does carpet fitting and ask them to try

Have you bought the leg up whilst doing it? Sometimes that makes it a lot easier and do one side at a time.

Which seat is it?

First of all don't worry as the plastic parts are not required. They are just guides to help find the isofix when your isofix is particularly deeply buried.

You will have two different buttons near the isofix arms themselves. One of them releases the clips, usually a red or green button, and one of them will change the length of those arms allowing you to have more reach into the seat or make the fitting more snug once fitted (in Joie these are normally grey).

First of all I'd try pressing the grey buttons to extend the isofix arms to their max length which will give you more wiggle room to play with.

Then press in the isofix release button and at the same time, push the whole seat/base back IN towards the isofix itself. If you're trying to release while pulling on the seat, it won't release, this is a safety feature. You need to also relieve the tension by pushing in at the same time.

Perhaps you have already managed by now but thought I would post an answer just in case.
