Does anyone know if realistic to fit 2 high backed booster seats and a car seat (plus 2 adults) into a Hyundai tucson?

It will be tricky because it's not a full sized middle seat, but not the worst car ever. You will probably be best with slim, non-isofix HBBs - try putting one in the middle and one at one side. BTW any high backed booster unless it's a multi stage seat, you can usually fold the isofix away and use it without.

For the car seat the Axkid Move or Minikid is usually the best one to try putting next to HBBs. You could also try Avionaut Sky, or Joie Tilt/Graco Extend. Rear facing is normally easiest for the car seat. If you need a forward facing seat then you might have more issue because they tend to be wider at the place where they interact with the HBBs.

It is safe to put a rear facing child seat in the front if you can turn the airbag off.

In general it's a bit trial and error with these things and you might have to try a few different seats and configurations to find the most comfortable set up. Bear in mind any accidental unplugging of the seatbelt too if you have a belt fitted harnessed seat next to a HBB where the two seatbelt buckles meet.

Which seats do you already have, and what are the age/weight of the children?

Thank you, kids will be 5 and 9, think we’ve got graco high backed boosters (non isofix) but happy to buy new ones it fit better. We probably will look to have a front facing car seat after a while as older children became frustrated in the rear facing ones as toddlers so is good to know this may be an issue!
