Doona Forward facing on Flight

Has anyone any experience taking a Doona on a flight for their toddler to sit on? Going on holiday with my 3 month old and 19 month old and planning on purchasing a seat for our toddler as it's only £50 extra and I know he won't be happy sitting on our lap for a 4 hour flight. Flying with Ryanair who require seats to be forward facing. I know doonas are for rear facing only but is there anyway to have them belted forward facing? With two infants, it would be easier having a car seat on wheels so I don't have to carry at the other end. Any other suggestions welcome 🤗 thanks

I think it's unlikely they will let you belt it in forward facing - you'd be better off with something like Joie Steadi which can be used both rear facing or forward facing. You can get car seat carry bags which have rucksack straps to make it easier to transport.

I asked easyJet customer service the same question this week and was told we could use the seat rear facing, but only when the fasten seatbelt signs were turned off. For takeoff and landing, the baby would need to be on my lap. I’m now trying to find out though, if someone has actually used the seat on easyJet and can confirm it fits!

Do you have another adult? The easiest would be 19MO on a lap for take off/landing and into their own seat for the rest of the flight (allowed whenever the seatbelt signs are off). Plan B- does Ryan Air permit a CARES harness? It’s an airline approved restraint device that would mean they can sit in their seat the whole time but there’s nothing bulky to lug through the airport.
