Putting a Joie iLevel back together

We stupidly stored our old car seat in the garage after DD grew out of it, and had to take it completely apart to wash as it was very musty smelling. I’m now left with random bits of foam and padding that I have no idea how they all fit together. The manual and you YouTube videos from Joie don’t show enough detail for how to put the pieces together again. If anyone has a Joie iLevel please please can you help?

To complicate matters, I also took apart the newborn insert from the Maxi cosi Mica that DD subsequently moved in to, to wash as well. So some (most?!) of the foam pieces may be from that instead.

i’m surprised that will even be to BS car seat safe.

Self assembly of a car seat? Not something i’d risk

Well the manual clearly states it all comes apart for cleaning…

to update, the foam parts are from the Maxi cosi Mica newborn insert. So I’ve gotten a bit further in figuring it out.

I could cry that DH just shoved them in the garage not even with a plastic bag over them.

Yeah good luck with that sorry OP!

Once did similar when 18 month old DD puked continuously from car sickness on our first family holiday, driving to Wales. We had to dismantle it similar to your photos to get to all the nooks and crannies filled with puke. It was lots of fun. Stupidly didn't take pictures before dismantling and it took about 4 hours to figure out how to assemble and re-thread the 5 point harness etc! You couldn't take the cover off ours without taking everything else out first which is pretty stupid for something that is very likely to be puked on!
Is there anything on the manufacturer website you can download maybe? Although I found YouTube most helpful.

Found a YouTube video after a lot of searching, both car seats are back together. Not talking to DH from the stress 🤪

Sorry to add, but if you’ve stored it in the garage then the “musty smell” could well be mould. It’s impossible to get rid of mould spores and they could compromise the integrity of the seat including the straps.

Absolutely no sign of mould, including any smell any more but thanks 👍

pic?!

given it a good febreeze spray?!

Pretty happy with how both are put back together. Absolutely not a smell either, it was mostly sawdust from some woodwork that was done over the summer in the garage that needed washing off to be fair.

This was the YouTube video I found buried in the official Joie YouTube page. I am fairly reassured that the seat looked just like mine without the covers and they’ve fitted back on just as the video shows.
