Cybex Anoris T i-Size - help

I am looking at replacing the car seat for my 3 year old to the Cybex Anoris T i-Size. I know that rear facing is the safest however, due to the size of our car this means we cannot use the front seat so need to look at a forward-facing.

Does anyone have this seat for their child who is just over 100cms? The front airbag looks like it may be really uncomfortable for little ones arms and could make them hot. Would welcome any reviews from anyone who has the seat.

Thanks

I haven't used that one, but I did have another impact shield seat for DS1 (without the airbag of course) several years ago, it never seemed uncomfortable for his arms at all. He was really happy in it until I moved him to a high backed booster seat at around 4.

At three if you're happy to forward face, honestly I'd just look at an ordinary harnessed seat. Joie Bold is popular because it has a larger harness capacity than most of them, up to 25kg without the usual 105cm height restriction.

If you did want to rear face it's possible that you can get a more compact seat than what you have now if your current seat is an 18kg one. The rear facing seats up to 25kg, like Axkid Minikid, are much more compact than the 18kg ones because they are more upright, so it's possible that you'll fit one where the larger isofix/spin seats don't tend to fit.

Thanks very much, I’ll take a look at the Joie Bold

Please look into “survival gap”. You need a minimum of 55cm between the back of your child’s forward facing seat and the back of the seat in front. If you cannot fit a compact rear facing car seat in your car, then it’s likely that you can’t safely fit a forward facing seat either.

That's true, but the diagram is very misleading, most of the time the seat edge is only about 55cm long. Unless you have a teeny tiny sports car with the front seat overhanging the back, you probably have enough space for a FF seat.

i-size seats like the Anoris also have a smaller gap - 50cm. Joie Bold is R44 so it's 55cm.
