Hi all. Can anyone help? I have a Cybex cloud q purchased in 2018. Now pregnant with baby number 2 and wanted to check the manufacture date of my seat to check it is still within the 5 years recommended by Cybex. I cannot find where this would be marked on my seat! Can anyone help? I don’t have the manual either (no idea where that has gone) any ideas? Thank you

I used ours from 2017 in 2019/20. Didn't occur to me not to.

Expiry dates printed on the seat is an American thing, EU seats don't expire, though use common sense - check the wear and tear on the seat, check for any damage, lost/missing/broken parts - do you still have the original newborn inserts? You know the history as it's your own seat - has it ever been in an accident?

You can download the manual from the Cybex website, service section. If it's no longer listed, just send them an email or message using their contact form, and they will send you a copy in PDF form. It's definitely a good idea to re-read the manual. The base and seat usually have separate manuals so read the base manual again as well.

4 years is not an unreasonable lifespan for a car seat, and presumably you only used it for about a year or so with your other child. I would personally use it again. IME they tend to start looking a bit worse for wear when they've had between 5-10+ years' use, and at that point it's time to retire it and replace with new. Infant carriers can generally do about 4-5 babies before they are ready for the bin. The seats for older children that get used for longer get worn out through less children (about 3). Your own seat you've used for your own child less than 5 years ago is almost definitely not a problem.
