I just wanted to give people my thoughts on the Joie Trillo LX high back booster car seat.
I have 3 children 8, 5 & 2 and have 4x Joie Trillo car seats in 2 our two cars.
I have came to realise this car seat is made and designed for left hand drive cars. It’s not designed for right hand drive cars, let me explain. The car seat comes with isofix clips that tighten up with a pull cord on the back left hand side of the seat. The release button is also located in this location. My issue is when you have multiple car seats like me, three side by side on the middle row it makes it very difficult to adjust the isofix pull cord when another car seat is in the way. My other concern is that the isofix button is also located in this area and pressed against the seatbelt retainer which could cause the isofix buckles to loosen over time or during an accident. I know these seats are designed to be used with or without the isofix in place and can be fix with a seatbelt alone. I contacted Joie direct and expressed my concerns and design flaw and they said they would pass it onto the design team but they are still selling the same design today. July 2022.
The seats are very comfortable and I have never had any complaints off my children.
The only way to fix this problem would be to place the adjustment cord and release button for the isofix on the front of the car seat where you will have space to allow for adjustment. In this location there would be no inteferance with seatbelt buckles or other car seats getting in the way.
So to sum it up I would recommend you to but a car seat with adjustments at the front of the car seat which allows you ample room for adjustment.
come on Joie you could very easily rectify this and make the seat better for you customers.
